About Avid

About Avid’s journey

In 2013, Sam Roberts and her co-founder set out to make a cider that surprised people — something with a bit of an edge, for cider drinkers who wanted more flavour and less sugar. It started with kegs at local concerts and pints passed around picnic tables, and it grew from there into a business.

That early support is what let Avid expand across the West. Avid is now part of Blake’s Beverage Company, which brought the scale to put the cider in a lot more hands.

More flavour, less sugar

Avid is fruit-forward and finished dry more often than not. We lean on real fruit rather than sweetness to carry a cider, which is why our dry ciders and our Imperials sit at opposite ends of the same idea.

Crafted for the outdoors

Avid is made for people who are outside first — at the lift, on the trail, around the fire. Everything we make is built to travel: cans, not bottles, and flavours that hold up after a day out.
